How do I keep my deleted emails from reappearing immediately requiring a 2nd deletion?
Deleted emails immediately reappear in mailbox requiring a second deletion. How can this be fixed?

Try rebuilding the mailbox.
If that doesn't work, try re-indexing the mailboxes. This can take awhile if you have a lot of mail.
Reindex messages For El Capitan, try looking in V3.

Thanks for the reply Eric. It's the Trash mailbox. Emails deleted from Inbox and Junk all go to Trash. Wehn I attempt to clear Trash they delete then immediately re-appear. I have rebuilt the Trash Box many times. Do I want to try and re-index the Trash box?
You are welcome. Try Mail/Preferences/Accounts/Mailbox Behaviors/Trash and make sure Store deleted messages on the server isn't checked.
